uh, what do you mean, "how"? You pretty much just answered your question. Maybe I'm just being dense, but you could do it the way you described, or you could import them to your family PC, and then just connect the fam PC and G5 over the netwrok and transfer them. would probably be faster, and less manual work.

...just be sure that when you burn that CD-R you're burning it as a Data CD, not an Audio or MP3 CD. That way, you can just copy the files onto the G5 when it comes. If you burn an Audio CD, you'll have to reimport the songs from the CD-R, and you'll have encoded them twice (once on the PC, then once again importing to the Mac) which is a no-no.

Or just wait until you get your G5 and skip that nasty PC step...
I'd say go directly to the G5. You can import your songs onto the PC if you like, but do it again when you get the G5 and don't bother copying between computers.

connect ur current mac with pc with an utp ethernet cable, share a folder in windows, use connect to server on ur mac and you have the windows share mounted on your desktop. now locate your music folder on the mac and drag and drop them to the shared folder. When you get your G5 connect it with the pc, enable windows file sharing in sys prefs/sharing, use network neighbourhood on windows to access the shared folder on ur G5 and again drag and drop the MP3s
