I have a major problem i mac will not boot, I see the grey screen with apple logo only, can't use restore CD(yes I have it ) as there is already a disc in and I can't eject it . any advice will be much appreciated

Reboot your computer and hold down the mouse button. The CD drive will eject on startup. Remove your old CD, insert the system restore CD, and you can then boot from it and take the necessary steps to repair your system.
