Some how I managed to mess up my MacBook and now every time I start I get the folder with a ? in it. If I attempt to boot from a disc I get the following after it ejects the disc:
panic(cpu 0 caller 0x0042F4E9): "Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\".n"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1228.0.2/iokit/Kernal/IOPlatformExpert.ccp: 1378

This is covered by the multilanguaged 'you must shutdown your computer' message.
I have a very reent time machine backup of my full system on an external and I was able to access the harddrive (I removed it and used my netbook which is running vista and OS X 10.5.7) to get the remaining files I added since the back up so reformatting the HD isn't an issue at this point.
Oddly, I can get the iDeneb.iso I burnt to a DVD to load OS X on my netbook to load just fine. There is an option there to restore from a backup however when I attempt to do so I get the spinning little multicolored wheel...
I know this is a lot, but I am a student in Poland and the closest Genius Bar I trust is in New York so any help would be great.
Thanks in advance
