keyboard not working

HI,

I have a user whose keyboard suddenly stoped working correctly.

Most keys don't work and others are giving out the wrong characters.

Is there some wierd key combination that could have caused this? Is there a way to reset the keyboard like on Dell laptops. The keyboard preferences in MacOSX don't give too many options.

It sounds like they may have "rotated their keyboard layout to a different language".

In the "International" pane of the System Preferences, make sure all 3 tabs have the language setting you prefer (English, I'll assume). In the third tab, "Input Menu," check the "Show input menu in menu bar." Then, go to the menubar icon (should be a little flag icon) and make sure that English is selected in that menu.

Also, in the "Input Menu" tab, click the "Options..." button at the bottom. A sheet should slide out with instructions and options for cycling through keyboard layouts -- this is most likely what happened.
