Keyboard

I recently bought a Mac mini to learn more about the Mac system, and bought an IBM keyboard to go with it. How can I assign functions to keys to make it easier to use? For example, I'd like to assign one key to the special Apple key, so I can copy and paste with ease.

You can do simple changing of the Modifier keys through the System Preferences/Keyboard & Mouse/Keyboard/Modifier Keys...
This allows you to swap the modifier keys around.

I've looked through the modifier keys. What it does is permit you to modify keys that are already defined. The problem I'm facing, however, is that I can't seem to define a key on my keyboard as the [I don't know what to call it] Apple key. The control and alt keys work fine, but I'd like to assign this other special key to my fn key. Anyone able to give me advice on this?
