hi all
old mac g4 (digital audio) working well this morning, then power cut, now mac is off and cant get it going.

pressing power on the front of the tower, the light behind the power button comes on but no chime or boot up or fan sound ..

could have an internal fuse gone?

Open up the G4 and look for the PRAM battery. Push the button that's next to it once and only once, then try and turn it on and see if it comes to life. Something tells me that your PRAM battery is drained and you need a new one. You can get them online or at Radio Shack for about 10 bucks or so.
 
thanks.. seems to have got it going.. but my displays are all screwed, can only use the 9way rgb out, the ati card and digi out arnt working.

should i replace the battery when computer is on or off?

Anytime you do anything inside the computer, it should be powered off and unplugged from the wall.

A PRAM reset may help get those displays going again.
