I just got a Lacie 250G USB2 external hard drive. Seems to work fine-except when i wake up my Mac after it's been asleep i get this message:
"Device Removal
The device you removed was not properly put away. Data might have been lost or damaged. Before you unplug your device, you must first select its icon in the Finder and choose Eject from the File menu"

I tried installing the USB2 drivers again.Don't know what to do now.

Help much needed please

USB2 drivers? From where? USB2 drivers should not need to be installed in order to use the hard drive. Where did you get the drivers from?

The drivers came with the SmartDisk USB2 card that I installed.... it's an older G4 (ie no USB2).

Still got the same problem... external hard drive unmounts every time i sleep... i'm tired and want to sleep now...
