languaje problem

I´m trying to make a design in illustrator (x) or indesign (2) that uses words in english, spanish and russian, I´m using sherlock to translate the words from english to russian, the problem is that no program recognizes the copy paste characters I need from sherlock to any program (except textedit ). I need the words in either illustrator, freehand (x) or indesign.

any ideas......

(switching the keyboard language does not help)

Hmmmmm....

What I have done previusly is type and print one language at a time in separate documents. You have to leave space where the other lines are to be. Then with all three printed use the old fashion cut and paste.
 
It may not be that the program doesn't recognize the copied characters, it could be that you're trying to paste those characters with a font that doesn't support those languages -- i.e., doesn't have the correct symbols/letters to be able to paste them.

You say TextEdit works -- copy and paste into TextEdit, look at what font you're using there, switch to either InDesign/Illustrator and change the character tool to that specific font, and try to paste again... hope that works!
