LCD issue

Please help!
I have an intel based Mac Mini connected to an LG 23inch lcd TV/monitor. My monitor goes to sleep and the only way for me to get it to wake up is to reboot my computer. Not only is this frustrating but it cant be good for the computer.

Are you using some sort of adaptor for the monitor, or is it connected directly to the mini?

Directly to the mini. DVI to DVI. The monitor has a DVI and a VGA connection via PC mode. I am wondering if There might be a DVI to S video or HD cable conversion peice so that I could connect through the component mode on the monitor?

Have you tried simply powering on and off the monitor itself? A bit crude of a solution but it would be easier than restarting the computer itself.
