do any of you know how i can disable the dock in Jaguar. in 10.1 i simply deleted the "dock.app" in coreservices and it was gone.

in 10.2 if you delete the dock.app the dock goes away, but so does my ability to click on the desktop. any suggestions?

i'd appreciate any insights.

thanks

(please spare me any "why would you want to do a dumb thing like that" comments. i just don't like the dock. sorry)

hmm...

maybe if you delete the item in /dock.app/contents/resources

or, you could try setting your permissions on that to not be able to read, write, OR execute.

cool,
Changing the bootup screen was not as bad as I had expected. Great tutorial. The skimpy color palette sucks though. I tried making a new .act file from Photoshop but when I open it in HexEdit it is 304 instead of 300. So I tryed replacing it and my logo stayed therer but the gray background was a very bright red. So I guess it is possible to change that gray to a different color too.

And thanks for finding that login screen tif. I kept replacing the same one that I replaced in 10.1.5 and nothing was happening
