lexmark x4875 printer

now didn't print this morning, said its connected wirelessly, but couldn't se the settings to make sure its on wifi. where do i go? then bout component so keep havin to put disc in n try to sort it.. keep downloading the software.. don't know how to sort this problem, if it at least worked with usb better than nothing

First open System Preferences->Print & Scan. Then see if the printer is presently listed. If it is not click on the + sign to add the printer. In that Print &Scan pane click on the 'Options & Supplies ....' button to setup the driver.

i pressed on driver and print using lexmark 4800 series, not sure which one it was that worked cos got the same printer in the list 3 times ilke lexmark 4800 series-2, 3, cos kept putting the cd in.. put lexmark 5800 series as default and its idle, will try with that

press to print from lexmark and it says: Looking for printer., problem communicating with the printer and its not connected when it clearly is, should i reinstall software again?

i uninstalled everything and want to install again.. put the disc in and it said: The disk you chose contains a newer version of the software you are installing. when i pressed on my Hard drive.. do i keep on with the installation? also when the setup assistant comes up and says what colour is it on the printer - do i plug my usb in before pressing what colour it is, its orange when usb is plugged in

saw my last message? when it says am i setting it up for the 1st time or on another computer i usually click on another computer, thats the right one? also wanna know if i should still install the disc again cos of the message that came up yesterday that i posted, or should download just drivers for lion

For one thing don't order me to post please.

Now open System Preferences->Print & Scan and in the left pane right click and choose 'Reset printing system ...'. Then plug the printer in your Mac via USB then do an Apple Software Update to see if Apple has driver for the printer. If it doesn't find one them get the driver from Lexmark Driver download page for your printer.

Plus have you seen the page at Lexmark called How to Reconfigure Your Replacement Inkjet Printer in an Apple Macintosh Wireless Network Environment?
