Lion -No support for HP4670 Scanner?

Just upgraded to Lion - works fine, but now the HP scanner software I find is PPC and so ...nothing!! All other progs seem ok...no joy on HP website - have apple thought of a workaround for this - have seen several people with PPC woes now!! Shame there wasn't a tanslator in Lion...???

Thanks --is that a part of Lion? And won't it need a driver for the scanner"

Preview has a scanner input option- but doesn't recognise the scanner (no driver I guess?)

It looks like it may be time for a new scanner. Your only other alternative is to maintain an older computer that is dedicated to your scanner. The most recent version of the HP driver for any member of the ScanJet 4670 family is intended for MacOS X 10.4. The opensource TWAIN SANE driver project does not support any member of the ScanJet 4670 family.
 
Then, there's MisterMe's good post #4 with probably the best choices:
Replace the scanner with one that is still supported, or
keep an older Mac dedicated for use with the scanner.
