Looking for a database app for OS X and 9.2

I need to find a database application that can be used in a business environment to keep track of vendors that also has a shared calendar function. Ideally this would be a freeware app but more importantly it would need to support both Mac OS X and 9.2.

Any ideas or recommendations? There is a OS X Server running 10.3 and a Mac mini running 10.4.6 and a few iMacs running 9.2 on the network. The Mac mini has Open Office 2.0 installed and that's about it. The OS X Server has the stock that come with the server edition of OS X and that's it.

Don't use filemaker in a mixed Mac os network.

1 The 7 only runs in osx.

2. The client for os 9 (4 and below) will corrupt the osx (7) database.

3. You will not be able to make a file in os 9 and run it under os x client with out converting it first, which means you will not be able to open it in os 9 client.
