I don't seem to find an oval widget anywhere on the Finders window. I have turned all items for the Sidebar on in preferences, but, still no sidebar. The only things on the upper right corner are: The internet connect icon, the volume icon and the date and time.Maybe you have clicked the small oval widget in the top right corner of your Finder windows. Try clicking on that. That widget toggles between the simple finder window, and the sidebar + menubar addition to and finder window. If you don't see the window change to a toolbar plus a sidebar, then go to your Finder menu preferences. Click on the Sidebar tab, and turn things on there. You should see the sidebar appear on any open finder window.
Thanks, I found the oval at the top right of the open window and clicked to toggle, but, I still do not get all of the items I requested in "Finder Preferences" for the Sidebar. Good start though... the oval won't be in the top left of your screen, but at the top left of the *window* that's open. For example, open a new Finder Window by clicking on the Finder icon in your dock (the "happy face") and look for the oval at the top right in the window that appears.
