Lowering Security Settings?

My friend has a G3 and she can get online just fine, but can't use any sites that require logins (Yahoo mail, netflix, etc). I surmise this is because her firewall or something similar is blocking those sites, but I can't figure out how to lower or turn off the security settings. If anyone out there has any clue about how to do this, input would be greatly appreciated.

For Safari, you can also check the Preferences / Security : Accept the cookies Always or for the sites you navigate to.

Try another browser like Firefox or IE.
