hello, i installed the 1st CD of mac os x
after the insallation, the computer will not read the mouse,i can only get a few keyboard commands,and i am unable to open the disk
drive to try and reinstall os x. my computer knowledge is basic, hope you can help. thanks, eddy
 
First off, which version of Mac OS X did you try and install? 10.2? 10.3? 10.4?

Also, what brand of mouse do you have -- is it the Apple-supplied USB mouse, or some 3rd-party mouse? Is it possible that some keyboard or mouse cable simply isn't plugged in all the way or seated improperly?
