Mac having network difficulties

I'm having difficulties with one of my mac. There are currently two problems but I have a feeling that they are both related:

1. I am unable to find my shared iTunes library on a network computer and the computer doesn't even show up in my iTunes. On every other device (including another MacBook Pro), it works.

2. When I try to setup Time Machine, it asks me to select a disk however it doesn't find my Time Capsule on the network. After about 3 seconds, System Preferences crashes out on me.

Any ideas?

PS: This notebook is running Lion and is completely up to date.

Are you using a wired network or a wireless network? Does Finder on the affected Mac see the other drives at all?
