Hi there!
Ive look all over, but I cant seem to find anyone who has had the same, or even similar problem that I am having now. I recently purchased a G4 cube, and its running Tiger 4.3 in Japanese now. I introduced it to my home network which contains 2 PCs and a Mac Mini that runs Tiger 4.3 in Japanese as well. After plugging in the LAN wire to my hub, all the networking went smooth, the Macs recognized each other right away and I was able to quickly set up the PC network as well.
The next day, I booted up the Cube, and then the Mac Mini. The Cube booted fine, but the Mini wouldnt start, and gave me the flashing globe icon on startup. I disconnected the LAN cable, and it started up. Thinking I had fixed it, I reconnected the LAN cable, restarted the Mini, and the same thing happened, I then fed it the system disc, and it started up and the bluetooth dialog box popped up and it began looking for a bluetooth keyboard (which I dont have). So now, the only way to get my Mini to boot is with the system disc. Once it boots, everything is fine, no problems networking with any of the connected computers, it just wont without the system disc!
Ive run disc repair in disc utility first aid, and that seems to be of no use, it says that the disc was repaired, but there is one HDS (HDF? not sure about the file ext.) volume that cannot be repaired. Is this some sort of indication that the Mini will need a fresh install of Tiger?
If anyone out there has experienced a similar problem or might have a solution to this bizarre predicament, please drop me a line!
