Mac Mini vs G5??

Hello,
I've currently got a Dual 2.5Ghz G5 with 5gb RAM, and I'm thinking about replacing it. I'm thinking about a mac mini, has anyone got any advice? I use my G5 for graphic design (photoshop, quark, illustrator etc) and internet. the main reason for thinking about a mini is obviously the price and size, plus the fact it's got an intel chip rather than a power PC. Would I be doing the right thing trading in the G5?

Thanks

Simon

You will sacrifice expandability: the mini will be stuck with the same graphics chip, and have limited memory and internal hard drive expandability.

Other than that, it should be on par or exceed the G5 in terms of performance.

I suppose I could always use an external hard drive. I'd hate to get rid of my G5 only to find a mini isn't going to cover my needs.

You should be fine with Leopard for quite some time. Once Leopard gets to the point where it's not suported anymore by developers, then I would start looking to invest in an Intel Mac if you can't do so before then.
