Hi guys,
I have a problem installing OS X Lion.

Yesterday I downloaded the OS X GM, Because I just can't wait for it. So then I open the .zip file and extract it to my local drive. Then I open it and my MacBook restarted. After that, when the system trying to install OSX, there was a problem with the system or hard drive. Its like "incorrect thread" or something like that.

Well, then i panicked.Because i try to fix it thru disk utilities and it keep failing. Try to format the HD and it fails. So I restarted my MacBook, but it won't go to the snow leopard. Keep booting to Lion Install. I already try everything. Inserting the Snow Leopard CD to reinstall the OS, it did not work. Keep saying that it can't install it on my drive. Even when I try to format the HD it won't detect it. Its like the Hard drive is locked or something.

I already try to press "opt" when the system boot but there is only one option which is "install lion". I also tried the start up disk but the system said that there's no enough information so I can't boot to my MacHD Hard Drive.

I really don't know what to do now. Please Help Me.

could you please supply the link where you downloaded from, just in case there are others who might enjoy "bricking" their computers.

jbarley: Hope that's sarcasm. No links to warez here on macosx.com.
amadhaterlaughs: Even if your Lion installation stopped dead, you should still be able to boot from your original installation DVD or Snow Leopard DVD and _partition_ your drive. Erasing it might not be enough, because Lion makes a small recovery partition.

You're safe, because Time Machine backs up all your data every hour. Simply restore your Mac from the Time Machine backups (or other type of backup) that you keep.
