HEy guys got a question, i dont have my instruction manual with me and i want to order some ram from work....

I got an old macbook pro, the 1.83ghz version that was first released, i have noticed on the apple site that the new 2ghz> macbooks can have up to 3gb ram...

how much can the 1.83ghz take?

Thanks

You have 2 memory slots. Each can take 1GB - so total can be 2GB

The newer Core2Duo MacBook Pro can have 2GB in each slot. Total of 4GB installed. The memory controller/logic board will not show more than 3GB. So, if 4GB installed, you would have 1GB wasted.
