MacBook Pro w/ Intel i7

Hello, when do you think MacBook Pro with Intel i7 would come out?
I was thinking to buy a MacBook Pro by this month but if a new one with i7 is coming out, I will wait.
In 2009 people said MB Pro with i7 is coming out in late September.
Although it didn't.

And I wasn't really sure if Core 2 is good...
Few of my MacBook user friends said core 2 isn't that great.

Right now my PowerBook G4 runs fine although its getting real weak.
I want to switch computers ASAP but if i7 is coming out I want to wait.

I've only heard rumors of one with i5 being announced later this month. If you can bear to wait for an announcement in a few weeks, see what happens. Then decide how desperate you are for newness.
 
I've heard the same rumors about it coming just around the corner. So your guess is as good as mine. However, from past experience, Apple generally updates it's product line sometime in late January or early February.

Again, nobody but Apple knows when Apple will do anything, and anyone that claims to know definitively is either speculating or flat-out lying.

Apple has been, is, and always will be a "wait and see" company. The element of shock and surprise is key in their marketing strategy, so unless you work for Apple in a very high position, you will never know when Apple will do something until Apple does it.

Speculation is rampant (just look at the hype surrounding an Apple tablet -- so far, the only thing "tablet" about Apple is a bunch of people who have whipped themselves into a frenzy over baseless rumor and speculation). Don't ever base a purchase off of rumor or speculation.
 
In the past, the MBP line followed the iMac line quite closely (not recently, though). A line with Core i3 for 13", Core i5 processors for 15 and 17" models with a Core i7 as a CTO-option seems like a "go" to me, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them released at the end of the month. But like EDCC said: Only Apple will tell us for real.
