When I first got MacKeeper I used the duplicates deleter. I tested it on one song and it didnt delete it from my itunes so I thought everything was alright. But after deleting over about 35gb of data tonsss of my songs in iTunes now have the exclamation point and there is no way to get my music back. I had it set to make a copy whenever I imported a song into iTunes. So I ran the recovery part of mackeeper and not one audio/song file was found...awesome. So now im stuck with tons of music missing from my computer and theres no way to get it back but to redownload all the songs and locate them through itunes.

When I first got MacKeeper ....
Sorry buddy, but MacKeeper is a scam. Even if it were not a scam, then its advertised functionality would be unnecessary on your Mac. If it were not a scam, then it would be only a waste of money. Unfortunately, your experience indicates that MacKeeper is a destructive piece of crap. If any good comes out of your experience, then I hope that others learn from your mistake.

Try to redownload the music that you lost. Please don't buy any more crap from scam artists.

I shouldnt need a backup for something that is supposed to keep my mac running better. And my question should obviously be how to get my music back... well im glad to know this was no help whatsoever and there is absolutely nothing i can do it about.

MacKeeper is not supposed to keep your Mac running better. It is a scam. It is supposed to take your money and provide no benefit. What part of scam don't you understand?

Well then they went through some serious trouble to make that application all for a scam. I didnt buy it anyways, i downloaded it free. Everything else about the program I didnt mind.

Make a back-up/clone of your HD prior to frelling with it?

Seriously, back in the day . . .

when "Back Up Your Data" meant floppy disks to even DVDs, this was a pain in the fundament, I know.

But fast! Now we have external HDs and no just TimeMachine but cloning programs that cost less than this scam program which, a briefest moment with "t3h G00gl3" would reveal is, indeed, a scam.

well im glad to know this was no help whatsoever. . . .

This forum? It is a forum, son, not a magic wand: if you destroy your data no one can help you. Seriously. Be glad it was music you can redownload.

. . . and there is absolutely nothing i can do it about.

You have served as an example to others. A Bodhisattva you are. You may not have enter'd Nirvana, but you lead the way for others.

So let us consider this: you scammed a scam business by piracy and now complain about the results?

The wise words of a rōnin come to mind. . . .

MacKeeper (if one chooses to use it) is available for a 15-day free trial, so getting it for free is not likely piracy. Getting a 'free' registration code to allow you to use it after the 15-days would likely be piracy/theft. You do need to eventually buy MacKeeper.
15 days is plenty of time to end up completely screwed - and for free, too!

MacKeeper must purchase lots of advertising on the internet, and likely with the idea that they will get money back for selling their junk. I suspect they are fairly successful...

Finally: I don't remember reading about MacKeeper in these forums, followed by praise - or any other good results.
