Mail app crashes following OS updates

OS X 5.8 1.5GB RAM, 300GB HD
12" G4

Just installed security update and updates to iWork. Now Mail crashes on start-up.
Tried moving folders out of reach. No luck. Tried re-building with shift during upstart. No luck.

The following is the message on crash.

Please. All RSS-feeds for my work is handled by Mail app... (and how do I get those urls out of the Mail pref folder?!)

To reset Mail (I have said this a million times) follow these steps:

1. Make sure you have no email in the InBox and all the email you want to keep in Saved folders (on your Mac in Mail). I ask this because resetting Mail will blow away the email in the InBox and NOT touch Saved email.

2. Write down you email server settings before starting. This is important and must be done before the reset.

3.. Quit Mail.

4. Navigate to the folder /YourHardDrive/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/ and move the file com.apple.mail.plist .

5. Launch Mail And enter your email server settings again.

This will reset Mail. I can't stress enough to write down your email server settings before starting this procedure.

P.S.: Plus try to see if any of your mail plugins is not working with the update. Also read this MacWorld article: A possible fix for a slow Mail app to speed up Mail.
 
No inbox. (and I moved the Mail folder to an external location before resetting Mail)

And Mail app crashes with the same message, after deletion of the mail.plist

have lost inbox
have rebuild Mail
