Mail.app crashing, need help!!

I got a new harddrive and restored my whole Mac OS X installation from a Time Machine backup. Everything works fine, but Mail starts spinning the beach ball after I start it up and has to be force-quitted. I tried deleting the "Envelope Index" and having it rebuild the database again. It seems like it rebuilds it just fine, but then says "Click on Continue if you are ready to start using Mail" and after I do that, I just see the beach ball indefinitely. Any tips?

Thank you in advance!

Check to make sure you didn't bring back some old Mail plugins because they can cause havoc going from a PPC chip running 10.4 to an Intel Mac running 10.5. Also go to the folder /YourHardDrive/User/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/ and delete the file com.apple.mail.plist . This will reset your Mail's preferences and you will have to set up the email account servers again.

Thanks for the quick response. I actually copied manually the plist file and rebuilt the database again and everything started working again!!

Thanks again!
