Mail - IMAP: Save Sent Messages

For some time I used a Canadian outfit for my mail (fastmail.fm). IMAP worked perfectly with them. Then I switched to .Mac out of corporate loyality. Sadly, I found out recently that .Mac doesn't sync sent mail when using IMAP, unlike fastmail.

This is a royal pain in the derrièr. I just recently began to combine the use of my mobile iBook with my PowerPC at home. I use Mail a lot (probably in an obsessive sort of way) and could really do with my sent mail syncing melodically between the two machines.

Does anyone know if I am doing something wrong?

Strange... works fine for me!

Dumb question, but are you sure you've enabled "Save Sent Messages" (or whatever) in the Account Preferences in Mail?

Now that I'm at home I can direct you exactly if you want the help:

Mail > Preferences > (.Mac Account) > Mailbox Behaviors > "Store sent messages on the server"

Sorry I abused the spirit of the forum. A lapse on my part (had a seriously fraught day).

Just goes to show though how useful this forum is though. Problem sorted, thanks to patient, knowledgeable contributors like ElDiabloConCaca.

I think part of my frustration/disappointment is driven by the slowness of the .Mac servers. It seems to take an eternity to download mail using IMAP and upload/download files using iDisk. The (erroneous) discovery that IMAP didn't seem to work properly seemed like the last straw.
