MBP and USB Antennas for extended wifi range

My internet access is through a fixed point wireless access provider whoe's antenna is about 500 feet from me. The built in Airport card does not provide the reliable connection that a directional, hi gain antenna would.

With my pc laptop I used a Hawking Technologies usb higain wifi nic/antenna that greatly extended my connection range.

When I purchased my MacBook Pro, I ordered a Mac compatable wireless-g usb adapter (HWL2A) from Hawking expecting the same increase in wireless performance. To make a long story short, I found out that "Mac compatable" did not mean "Intel based Mac compatable."

Hawking told me they won't have Intel Mac drivers ready until late this year, so my question to you is, can you suggest a workaround, or another brand that is compatable now?

Thanks

Here's a Mac only one similar to the HWL2A (so obviously Mac intel compatible). It also has 802.11n and an external antenna port for adding even bigger antennas depending on what you need:

I have the same device and OSX 10.6.6. Hawkings says so sad, too bad. Buy a new antenna. I might, but it won't be anything from Hawking Technology unless they first make a driver for Intel Macs.

Is it possible to use a wireless router to pick up a stronger wifi signal with a router with a beefed up antennae and send it out that faster signal in my apartment using a second router? I got these antennae: http://www.gnswireless.com/HAI15SC.htm
and 2 routers - I feel like it must be possible, but I don't know how - it's got to be a matter of setting up the network, becuase I think I have all of the physical stuff I need to give it a go - if you can, please help with a lil' advice! Here's a video showing my setup: http://youtu.be/Jy473OmdsHo
