Memory Problems

Well, the "Macintosh way" of uninstalling applications is to drag either the .app file itself, or the application folder (in cases like PhotoShop or Toast that are in a folder) to the trash.

Other than that, the files that are left behind can usually be found in /Library/Application Support/, ~/Library/Application Support/ and ~/Preferences/ and don't take up much more than a few hundred kilobytes. Doing a search for the application's name or the vendor's name can reveal these small files so you can trash them as well. Other applications (like some that use the VISE installer) can be uninstalled by re-running the installer and selecting the "Uninstall" option, but not all apps using an installer offer this.

I found this app:
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/17138
but it must be run before the install, and then after the install to uninstall any software -- you run it once before the install, then you install the software, and if you choose to uninstall the software, you run it again and it'll remove all the recently added files... I don't know if I'd trust it, but it could be something worth checking out!
