I'm not a big fan of chatting or MSN for that matter and when I baught my mac I wanted to start using the microphone to talk to someone over the internet. To make matters worse, the other user(s) use windows so if I do find software, then it would need to be compatible with windows. Is there a program out there? or can you use msn to do that?

Also, I rather not pick up the phone, but I won't go into why.

Thanks guys!

If you choose to use Skype it would be wise to sign up now and pay for a year. It's half price ($14.95) till Jan. 31 when the free U.S. and Canada calling goes away.

Clarification:

If one decides to call from their computer to any persons' phone (in the United States and Canada, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week), there is 'is 'SkypeOut' - for $14.95 a year.

The allowance of using 'SkypeOut', for free, expires 31 Dec. 2006. The ability to 'optionally' sign up for 'SkypeOut' at $14.95 annually expires 31 Jan. 2007. Starting 01 Feb. 2007 'SkypeOut' will cost one $29.95 annually.

-----

Again, to call someones' phone - 'SkypeOut', an annually paid service.

To call (or talk) to someone - computer to computer, with 'Skype' - is free.

No, you're not mistaken.

iChat to AIM on a PC works fine for me for video conferencing.
