Microsoft Word For Mac

Good Morning.

Word for Mac keeps crashing on my emac. It was running ok until I updated my Adobe CS package yesterday morning. Could the CS update have anything to do with it?

The error message is-
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000000

What does Kern Protection failure mean? I use to get this message all the time when Acrobat crashed whilst printing a 7 file from Acrobat 5, since updating Acrobat the problem has been resolved. Alas, now i can't seem to use word for more than 10 mins without it crashing, it even does it when there isn't even a file open.

Thanks, I look forward to many knowledgeable responses.
Vanessa.

I think it's got something to do with your computer's kernel, which is a core part of your computer's functionality.

With Word closed, go to the Finder, choose Home from the Go menu, open Library, open Preferences, open Microsoft then trash the file "com.microsoft.Word.prefs.plist". Empty your Trash, then try Word again.

I had the same problem. I resolved it by reinstalling Word using the original CD. It only took a few minutes and worked perfectly.
