Mini Mac G4 With Panther no sound

I recently put panther onto my mini mac g4, but I cannot get the sound to work? i.e normally boot up audio but no other audio can anyone help.

What are your sound inputs and outputs configured as in the "Sound" pane of the System Preferences?

Have you tried zapping the PRAM?
