Mirror Drive Door G4 Startup Problem

Can you please help me with a start-up problem?

When I try to switch on my G4 by pressing either the button on the screen or the computer the one can hear one of the hard drives start to spin up, both the button lights come on then a few seconds later the whole process stops, the drive spins down and the light buttons turn off.

sounds like a faulty power suply or corrupt system try starting from a install cd
