Missing mails on Macbook pro

I've just bought a MacBook Pro to supplement my Vaio Windows Desktop. On the Vaio I run Outlook express, with my mail server from BT Internet (POP3). I've set the mail server up exactly the same on the MacBook but some of my mails just don't arrive, although they're all there on the Vaio.

This is pretty annoying as I'm now forced to continually check the Vaio to see if I'm missing any mails, which kind of defeats the object of having the Mac. Can anyone help??? Would v much appreciate your feedback.

Have you setup your email service to do IMAP? This is the only way you will be able to get identical email from that ISP service on both machines. A POP3 email account does not naturally keep the message on the server unless your email client allows it to stay on the server (OS X's Mail will do this in the Accounts (for your ISP account)-Advanced tab).

What I seen in Outlook Server 2003 (the office I work in uses this piece of crap) does not leave POP3 email on server after it gets the email (at least in my office).

No need to start a completely new thread asking the same thing.

Specifically, look at my reply in that linked thread above. If you have set up a POP3 account on one machine, and have it set up to not leave messages on the server, then the messages will only be downloaded to ONE machine, not both. For them to appear on ALL machines, you'll either need to switch from a POP3 to an IMAP account, or modify your email client's POP3 settings to leave messages on the server when they're downloaded.
