Hi, i am new to this forum and new to Mac computer.

I am using MacPro mainly on prepress work. I will be using a lot of Illustrator, photoshop and other prepress software where i load gig of image & tons of illustrator files. No multimedia work for the moment.

Will there be an issue when saving files / transferring files to another computer or server or IBM PC because of the different way MacPro handling bits ?
Is there any guideline to look out for?

Btw, why can't i see "open using Rosetta" at Photoshop 7 and other Adobe software infor windows? are they compactable with Macpro?

Thanks in advanced !

About rosetta - rosetta is automatically called when needed. You don't have an option to use it, or not use it, although you can force the use of rosetta in certain situations. It is essentially invisible to the user. Your Adobe software will work fine on the MacPro.

The storage/file transfer process should not affect any file. If you store a file that may be opened with a different app (such as Quark), then you may want to know if you should save the file in a different format for easier opening.

Yeah the network layer always uses the same order of bits no matter what the operating system. The operating system is responsible for ordering the bits in the correct order if they're not native to the network order and the IBM PC will take the bits from the network and order them in whatever order is native to it.

Thanks Captain Code,
means that i won't be facing any issue when burning CD/ DVD for client as well?
