Need Text Edit for Mac OSX Tiger

Greetings,

I wanted to know if there's any fellow Mac user out there running under OSX Tiger who could send me a copy of the TextEdit application that comes with it standard.

I deleted mine when I didn't pay attention to a bunch of applications I dragged into the trash. :o Just cleaning out apps I never use, but multi-highlighted one too many.

I don't have an installation disk on hand or anything of that nature, and will be backing up what remaining applications I have.

Thanks,

You could just get another free text editor. I like Textwrangler and Smultron. For some types of files, OmniOutliner works.

Hi Curiosity,

Thanks for your suggestion, however I'm really intent on getting the Mac version. I realize that there are many free text editors out there and am sure that there are some really good ones. I've heard good reports about Smultron from reading a similar thread.

I may end up getting something Smultron anyway, but still prefer to have the original TextEdit as well.

Thanks again,
Marcus

Use "Pacifist" (easily found with a simple Google search) and extract the original TextEdit.app bundle from your Mac OS X install CD/DVD.

I was going to suggest that very thing, until I read the part of the OP's message where he states...
"I don't have an installation disk on hand"
