Need the right dvd protection remover & writer

I have already read the few responses given by others on the subject but what I am needing is a program that allows me to remove the protections from a dvd and back it up on my HD in the original format for writing to a dvd later on down the road. I need this dvd to play on my normal, old, everyday, dvd player that is connected to my television. Is there 1, 2, or even 3 programs that may be needed to be bundled in order to achieve this feat? Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is for my personal library.

It is only illegal if you profit from it. It is for my personal library. If it was so illegal then why are there so many programs that rip protections off dvds and let you write them to dvds that can be played on any computer? These programs are sold legally at stores and over the internet.

That is not true. It is illegal to circumvent any form of DRM or copy protection for any reason.

Maybe what you meant to say was, "You'll only get busted if you're profiting from it."

Show me one brick-and-mortar store in the United States that sells these types of programs.

The programs that are being sold over the internet are not being sold from within the United States, and if they are, they are being sold illegally.

Cocaine is being sold and used on damn near every street corner in the United States -- are you going to try and tell us that selling and using cocaine is legal?

Using the logic "they sell it!" or "they use it!" or "if it were illegal how come I can get it so easy?" is flawed, to put it nicely.
