netgear WGR624 v6 and Macbook

wireless very slow internet connection and prolonged log on time -
same home wireless network works fine for pc-
any ideas?
 
Go to apple menu/Locations and set up a specific location for your wireless and turn on "Interference Robustness". That might help ensure your mac connects to your wireless and not someone else's. Turn on your firewall on the router.
 
Open System Preferences->Network and there select a new custom "Location" (calling it whatever you want). I find airport seems to work better this way but I don't know why yet. The most I can figure out is something wrong with the 'Automatic' Location.
