How do i connect a mac osx10.4 to a windows enviorement?

currently the mac is accessing the internet and printing to the designated windows network printer, also recieving an IP from the DHCP Server on Windows.

However when i run a network scan on my main server, it doesnt show any of the macs on the network.


Is this an issue with windows and adding the computer to the network via ADS? or is it an issue with the mac's that i dont know about?

I never added the mac to the network, simply just plugged in the ethernet cable and went from there. I dont know if im suppose to do something else via the macs or what.

Do you use Active Directory? Do you want Exchange connectivity?

What kind of "connectivity" do you want with the Macintosh?

Please describe the network in more detail -- the configuration of the Macintosh machine will be different depending on what kind of network you want to connect it to.
 
o i see.
the network is a windows 2000/xp network running on a 2k3 server.
we do use AD, i would like to be able to take care of the computer (mac) in AD Services if possible.

by that meaning, be able to view it in AD and treat it as a regular network computer.
