Network settings

Since, 2 days ago my emac keeps disconnecting and this message appears:
"The connection was terminated by the communication device. Please verify your settings and try again."

My settings right now are like these:
Connect automatically when needed - ON
Prompt every ... minutes to maintain connection - OFF
Disconnect if idle for ... minutes - OFF
Disconnect when user logs out - OFF

I have a DSL-ethernet connection and my question is, how should my network settings be so I my computer doesn't keep disconecting? :(

It sounds like the modem or router itself is causing the disconnection. What kind of modem or router are you using, and how is it connected to the computer (e.g., modem to the router to the computer, or modem directly to the computer, or...)?

I'm assuming it's a modem directly connected to the computer since it looks like you're using PPPoE settings in the network and/or Internet Connect settings...?
 
Thanks for your reply, you're right, I'm using a modem directly conected to the computer. So, what should I do, call my ISP?
