I am trying to network my mac os x 10.3.9 with my laptop running windows xp so that I may grab and transfer files between the two. I have read 5 different tutorials and did everything they said with setting up each computer so that it "should" work. However I keep getting error code 36 every time I try to connect. I can get the laptop to connect to my mac but the mac won't connect to my laptop. Please help, I know there are other threads with the same problem but i have tried everything that those people suggested and still have not solved the problem. I would greatly appreciate some help.

Is the firewall on or off on the Windows machine? If on, is it set to allow SMB traffic to pass through?
