New G5s and pld Hard drives

Quick technical question. I can only see two SATA controllers on the new G5s.

Is it possible to hook up our existing IDE drives from current G4s to this controller?

dont think so, but you may be able to add an IDE PCI expansion card

There's just 3 PCI slots in the G5, and the internal layout is designed for the S-ATA drives (They just snap in, connectors to the back), part of that clean internal design, there's no connecting cables showing at all. Where would you put an additional HD anyway? Best bet, would be to put our old HD in a firewire case (the FW800 connection would be really fast)

Are there any good silent FW designs out there? Would be a shame to hook a noisy beast up to the G5.

You can buy sata-to-ide converters. I'm pretty sure newegg sells them

Internal converter,? I don't think so. There's probably not enough room to use one.

Oh I think there'd be enough room. You'd just slide the harddrive toward the back of the case a little more. They really don't take up too much space.

I am going to assume that the Superdive is still ATA and that the HD's are SATA, So I guess you could just set your super drive and an IDE drive to master slave and use it like that ?
