new ipods today??

The todays software update for the ipod said:

Pod Update 2004-04-28 supports all models of iPod and iPod mini introduced before April 28, 2004.

Does that mean we will see new ipods today??

The update provides compatibility with Apple's new lossless audio codec that is part of QuickTime 6.5.1 and iTunes 4.5, for 3rd generation and iPod minis only.

It's not evidence that new iPods are coming, although new iPods may still be in the works.

Hey now, the iPod was most definitely not the first MP3 player, but it quickly became the best once people got them into their hands. I'm sure Apple could be second, third, fourth to the market with an updated iPod with new media support and quickly take the #1 spot as well.

Sweet colors!!! Also if you guys wanna help me, my girlfriend ordered my an ipod mini for my birthday (May 13th) and were leaving for disneyworld for 5 days on may 13th. Shes afraid the mini (engraved too I believe) wont get there by may 13th. I tell her not to worry about when it comes because it really is the thought that matters the most to me, but I know shell be very upset if it doesnt come on time. She ordered it I think 1st week of April. Anyone have an idea/prediction?

Well, it depends of how it was sent (which way was it shipped)? I can tell you (or your girlfriend) go to the Apple account which ordered it. Then click on order status and see when/if it has been shipped. Then if you shipped it ground the average time is 5 to 7 business days (at least in my experience). I hope you get it in time.
