New member here! Can I request someone different to give me technical support?

I have heard wonderful things about this site, so I signed on because I was experiencing problems with my new Apple. I submitted my issue in the question/reponse area and got a response back from a technician that was just unacceptable. It was the rudest service I think I have ever recieved. I have been a Microsoft user all of my life, so of course I'm not going to know anything about my new Apple, but this technician had no patience for my lack of knowledge for my new system. I told him that I would rather not speak with him anymore, I would like to switch to someone more qualified in customer service, but I expect he will send me another nasty message. Has anyone experienced this here? What should I do?

Thank you for any help you can provide!

I'm very sorry to hear that. Why don't you post your question on the forums where everyone can read and respond to it. Because it is open to the public, you *might* get a couple of rude and unhelpful answers, but you're also likely to get some really helpful people who would rather be part of the solution than part of the problem.

Also, because the forums are public, the answer to your problem will likely be accompanied by a few pages of debate on whether the problem should have been allowed to happen in the first place, who is at fault, and what Apple should do about it right now. This is also perfectly normal for a public Internet forums such as this.

The question/response service is handled by volunteers and is generally very helpful to a lot of people. I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience with it.

Thank you for the advice! I think what is happening with my Apple is a manufacturer defect. I bought a Powerbook G4 that busted in 2 days, and was told it was a faulty logic board. Apple kindly replaced it with a new laptop, but it's now been 4 months and the same symptoms are slowly starting to occur on my replacement laptop! I will post the problem in more detail in the proper forum, but if you know of Apple having a problem with faulty logic boards, I'd be glad to know! Thank you.

I've asked the tech that was working on your question to reopen it so another tech can take a crack at it.

After reading your question, I would call Apple. You may have a logic board problem again.
