i just installed aperture 1.1 UB on my macbook pro and when i try to run it it will not open, niether will anything else i attempt to install... i tried aperture on my imac g5 and it worked fine...

What are the other apps that you have installed?

Have you tried simply restarting your MacBook?
Have you tried repairing permissions?

When you try to launch Aperture, do you get an error message? Does anything else happen, such as 'Aperture' showing next to the Apple in the top left corner (indicating that the program is open, with menus, but no document open)

Do you have a problem launching any other apps (such as iDVD, for example)?

yep, tried all that, nope id click the icon, it bounced and thats it... but i reformated and it works now... now i have a diff problem, when i reinstalled dvdstudio pro 4.1 when i open that and compressor it says on the load screen NOT FOR RESALE under the app name, doesnt do this on fcp or any thing else just dvdstudiopro and compressor....

My copy does that, but I know why.
Mine came from Apple as a dealer demo, and is listed that way on the original disk label. You must have got a free copy of a store disk, as it can't be sold.
If you paid full price, then you should call AppleCare for assistance with reinstalling the app.

if it doesnt have any missing features that the resale version would have i really dont care that much.. it makes me feel special? lol

So, if you already knew what you have (actually is not for public distro, you know) - why did you ask, again?
I didn't say that features aren't missing, and how will you know unless you pay? I'm not sure if 'feeling special' about a bootleg copy is how I would describe it. My 'copy' is at the store - where I work... What's your connection?
