no mpeg convert options

ok, first off let me get out of the way right off the bat that i'm an idiot.

ok good, now, i'm trying to make a dvd out of a show that i edited, so i need to convert to mpeg or mpeg2, but neither final cut express or quicktime pro seems to have that convert option. i've done a little research and i know these programs should be able to do just that, what is my problem?

either idvd or sizzle, sizzle seems a bit simpler, i don't need extravagant title menus or anything, i just need the video on the dvd
