No smoking symbol

Hey guys...Im having a small problem...when I boot I don't get a no smoking symbol (best way i can desribe it) what does that mean and what needs to be done to repair it. Any help is appreciated.

You don't get the no-smoking symbol, or you do get the no-smoking symbol?

If you mean that you do get the no-smoking symbol, that means that your OS X installation has somehow become damaged to the point where it refuses to boot. Try booting into single-user mode and running fsck. Instructions on how to do this can be found here by way of a search.

Did some more research ..... It's call the prohibitory Symbol which can be found here

apparently there is a problem with the os...i'm running disk warrior right now.

Yes, I call it no-parking.

Good luck with disk-warrior. Basically it means that the system is fouled up, missing vital files. You may have reinstall.
