Nokia Data Cable Drivers for OS X?

Hi,

I just got a Data Cable for my Nokia 6230 for Xmas, an I am wondering wether there is any software to get the phone to recognize the Mac?

System Profiler sees the data cable but not the phone.

Hopefully,

The Nokia 6230 isn't supported under Mac OS X. See here for a list of supported phones:
http://www.apple.com/isync/devices.html

I've got a 6610 and the Nokia USB Data Cable, and they're both useless to me under Mac OS X.

As far as I know, there is no software or drivers that can take advantage of the Data Cable with your phone. There have been, however, some hacks out there that involve editing some system files that allow certain unsupported phones to be supported. If you have a bluetooth adaptor for your Mac, you can use this:

hmmm, well i will have a look into it, I have used the bluetooth program mentioned cant afford to register it tho. Who should i talk to about getting the phone/D.Cable supported Apple or Nokia? as the Cable is seen by Sys. Profiler is it the phone or the cable?

<==cellphone xpert.

The phone will show up as a removable drive. But it's useless and will not work under OS X or any mac. You need a PC for file transfer. I use it for my Nokia 3300 for music and pics.

Theres always WAP Lockers.

And dont forget you can get a phone with bluetooth. Then you're set.

well i have a BT Dongle and of corse the 6230 is BT compliant, I was able to transfer files via the BT, it was slow but i could do it, thats why i got the Data Cable, why isnt the phone compatible with OSX?
