Noobish printer driver question

Hallo

It's embarassing to ask, but nothing I've tried has worked.. how do I install a printer driver? I have access the .PPD file itself (it's a Panther Plus printer), but I'm not sure where to put it or how to make it "live".

Also, is that all there is to it? Dragging the .PPD to a certain place? Or is it something I need to ask around and find out if we have installer disks for?

[edit] Actually, it looks like I don't have .PPD files, when I get info on the files I think are applicable, they're labeled as "UNIX Executable" files...?

Mac Mini
OSX 10.5.8

TIA!

Contact the mfgr. You're attempting to install Windows drivers, which will not work.

Then again, it may not be even Mac compatible. If so, return that dog and get a real printer. :)

Haha yeah, it's pretty old.

It has to work somehow though, because the other Mac in the office is networked to it and it can print to it and everything. The Panther itself runs off an oooooold Power Mac G3 (beige even!). The Panther model itself is a PantherPlus. We use it to print film for stripping.

There's a bunch of 'Panther' files on the shared server Mac, but I don't know what to do with them (the UNIX Executables). I'm thinking there has to be an installer disk floating around somewhere..?

I'll see if I can contact Panther too, but I'm not optimistic. heh
