Norton Personal Firewall & AntiVirus not loading

After upgrading when booting to Tiger 10.4.2 I get the message that these two utiliities didn't load and aren't running.

I have tried the Live Update solution/suggestion posted on Norton's site but no go.

Any clues?
 
Get rid of those programs -- Symantec has dropped support for many of their products for Mac OS X, and the ones that they do still support are known to cause problems under Mac OS X.

AniVirus is not needed (presently), so it's safe to get rid of, and Mac OS X's built-in firewall will be just as good (if not better) than Norton Personal Firewall.
