I install a new internal drive (WDC WD 2500 AAjB-00j3A0 ATA ) into my G4 (mirror doors-1 GHz PPc-2GBs Ram w/OS 10.4.11 ).All went well I thought exceptwhen I tried to start up from that drive , I got the " not allowed symbol " - circle W/ line though it -why can't i boot up from the new drive which has Os 10.4.11 on it
 
How did you install Mac OS X 10.4.11? From the original installer CDs/DVDs? From a clone of your previous drive?

Is the previous drive still in the machine? Did you jumper the drives correctly?

the article TS1892-Mac OSX: Broken Folder icon... was very helpful-it answered that Apple as of OS 10.2 had changed the icon. Also , after a day of reading / trying different things was able to fix the problem with Disk Warrior. Once again sorry for the delay - thank you
